Questions you may be asked title

A victim will be asked the following when reporting Hate Crime (not necessarily in this order):

Personal Info:

  • Name, address, contact details, mobile / home / work, date of birth, ethnicity.
  • Whether you are a repeat victim.
  • Willingness to assist Police in the investigation / provide statement and attend court if required.
  • Willingness to be referred to other agencies / have their details passed on for support purposes. (ie Epping Forest Racial Incident Panel, Victim Support, Action for Men, EMAS and The Citizens Advice Bureau)

Incident Info:
  • Type of incident (ie. what happened) this will include detailed descriptions of people, events, locations etc...
  • Date / time and venue of incident
  • Method of incident and any pre exisiting incidents showing motive etc / ie. neighbourhood unrest
  • Any weapons / firearms used

Persons involved:

  • Suspect details (age, address, tel no. etc as above) / descriptions if details not known.
  • Witness details as above.

The list is almost endless as the Police will require all and any relevant info to a particular crime although the above is fairly comprehensive.
