A victim will be asked the following when reporting Hate Crime (not necessarily in this order):
Personal Info:
- Name, address, contact details, mobile / home / work, date of birth, ethnicity.
- Whether you are a repeat victim.
- Willingness to assist Police in the investigation / provide statement and attend court if required.
- Willingness to be referred to other agencies / have their details passed on for support purposes. (ie Epping Forest Racial Incident Panel, Victim Support, Action for Men, EMAS and The Citizens Advice Bureau)
Incident Info:
- Type of incident (ie. what happened) this will include detailed descriptions of people, events, locations etc...
- Date / time and venue of incident
- Method of incident and any pre exisiting incidents showing motive etc / ie. neighbourhood unrest
- Any weapons / firearms used
Persons involved:
- Suspect details (age, address, tel no. etc as above) / descriptions if details not known.
- Witness details as above.
The list is almost endless as the Police will require all and any relevant info to a particular crime although the above is fairly comprehensive.
